BizRate Tip: Never place every duck decoy pointing into the wind. This indicates that the flock is preparing to fly away. Duck decoys with 'ties' must be assorted with the ties in the front, center, and back. Longer tie strings make the flock look like it is swimming. Turn the duck decoys at different angles to give the illusion of hovering birds. Wild ducks bank 20-30 yards in front of the duck decoys. Place the decoys up wind so ducks will bank in front of the blind giving the hunter a good shot.
